The debate (forum) is sponsored jointly by the Wilmington area League of Women Voters and WECT-TV in Wilmington. All three candidates whose names appear on the ballot—Democrat Kay Hagan, Libertarian Sean Haugh, and Republican Thom Tillis—have accepted invitations to participate. Moderated by WECT anchor Jon Evans, the debate will air 7pm on Thursday, October 9th. It will be broadcast statewide (check your local listings) plus webcast live at wect.com.
There will be no live studio audience at this event. Please consider hosting or attending a watch party with your friends.
And if you are in the Wilmington area, join the Debate Watch Party at the Front Street Brewery, 9 North Front Street. They will be dedicating one of their big screen TVs to the debate. Come watch and then stay for the after-party with Sean Haugh and Campaign Manager Rachel Mills, who will be coming to the bar directly from the debate.
The debate will be carried live in Raleigh on WNCN-2 which is available on TWC channel 1245 or on “Antenna TV” at 17.2. There is a Debate Watch Party at The Gourmet Factory at 3933 Western Blvd.
